Créé par des professionnels du tourisme, l’association "Baie de Somme Zéro Carbone" est une initiative privée qui a pour objectif de préserver ce territoire unique qu’est la Baie de Somme. En effet, avec 2 millions de visiteurs par an, l’impact du tourisme sur la destination est très important, tant sur le plan économique qu’environnemental.

 

 

In 2008, the “Espace Equestre Henson-Marquenterre” has been awarded the National label of “agriculture raisonnée” for its breeding and agricultural practices. Our two “Espaces Equestres Henson” have been qualified by the Somme Tourist Board and the Ministry of Sports as official members of the network for outdoor activities in Picardy.

 

 

Of course, we are members of the French Federation for Equestrian Activities and are organizers of several events and shows (endurance rides, horse-ball, pony games, horse-drawn carriage show and polocrosse).

 

 

The “Espace Equestre Henson-Marquenterre” manages over 180 acres of polders in the “Parc du Marquenterre” (owned by the French Coast Conservancy Trust and operated by the Board of Cooperation of the Bay of the Somme). These wetlands are used for seasonal grazing from May to November, in symbiosis with the wildlife).

 

The “Espace Equestre Henson-Marquenterre” is a member of the “Rural Area for Excellence” awarded to a selective group of activities in the Bay of the Somme region by the DIACT (“Interministerial Delegation for the planning, sustainable development and competitiveness of rural territories”).

 

 

We are in direct partnership with the municipality of Fort-Mahon-Plage for the management and the development of the”Espace Equestre “l’Etrier” Fort-Mahon-Plage, located right next to the secretive Bay of the Authie, the “younger sister” of the Bay of the Somme”.

 

 

 

Our two “Espaces Equestres Henson” have concluded an official partnership with the Pierre&Vacances resort company to welcome in the best conditions the guests of the “Ecovillage of Belle Dune”, a very innovative resort located across the territory of Fort-Mahon-Plage and Quend-Plage-les-Pins.

 

The “Espace Equestre Henson-Marquenterre” is the direct partner of the “Domaine du Marquenterre”, a unique 2500-acre estate, immediately adjacent to the natural reserve of the Bay of the Somme, offering in conjunction with the estate a whole array of activities celebrating the quest for harmony between man and nature.

 

 

For all our equestrian activities and services, we welcome the “cheques-vacances” fostered by the ANCV (National Agency for the Chèques-Vacances), both in our “Espaces Equestres Henson” of Fort-Mahon-Plage and Saint-Quentin-en-Tourmont.

 

Since many years, the “Espace Equestre Henson-Marquenterre” is registered by the “Guide du Routard” among the best nature-oriented activities of the Bay of the Somme region.
