Sunday 20th October 2019 – 29th edition of Trans’Henson
Trans’Henson in the Bay of Somme…
More than 200 riders, 15 teams and 100 horses in freedom, rushing in full light on the grand piano of the Bay to play an ode to life in major mode …
The Trans’Henson is majestic, beautiful as the harmony of the first mornings of the world.
The riders and the public vibrate in unison with the horse Henson in its territory of sky and sand.
Happiness, that day, resides in the Bay Somme …
Welcome to the Henson Land !
The transhumance of Henson horses in the Bay of Somme
Sunday, October 20, 2019 in Saint-Quentin-en-Tourmont
Today, the course has not changed, but in the meantime, the Henson horses were officially recognized in 2003 (44th French equine race and today appearing among the 9 breeds of “horses of territory”), near 1200 Henson horses were born in Baie de Somme and elsewhere in France and the creation in 1994 of the National Nature Reserve of the Bay of Somme has given full scope to the protection of this natural heritage that serves as a haven every day.
Great and beautiful adventure that the Trans’Henson 2019 will symbolize again this year for all the riders and for their public who comes to find them for this big meeting of the autumn in Picardie.
The Association of Riders of the Bays of Somme and Authie:
Craftsmen of the first hour of the recognition of the Henson horses, they count close to a hundred volunteer riders and their relatives, always present to organize demonstrations and spectacles in our area, in particular “The Trans’Henson”.
The National Henson Horse Breed Association:
It is the association guardian, which manages the “stud-book” of the race Henson in liaison with the National Stud (IFCE) and the Federation of the Horses of Territory (FCT), qualifies in particular the breeding (stallions and brood mares) and supports breeders in promoting the breed.
The “Henson Equestrian Centers”: Bay of Somme – Marquenterre – Bay of Authie – Chantilly – Le Touquet
The equestrian adventure starts here. . . A beautiful country – the Marquenterre – from the Bay of Somme to the Bay of Authie. A new breed of horses, born here, fruit of passionate work. Three “Equestrian Henson Spaces” in the Bay of Somme: “Henson-Marquenterre” in St-Quentin-en-Tourmont, “L’Etrier” in Fort-Mahon-Plage and “Haras Henson” in Rue, distant from each other. a few kilometers by the beach or by marsh and low-fields, to welcome you and share with you our passions every day. . .
After Henson-Chantilly-Apremont in 2014, which opened to the Hensons the “horse capital” and the park of his illustrious castle, the latest creation unites the 3 estuaries Picardy -Somme, Authie, Canche- thanks to “Espace Equestre Henson-Le Touquet “, created in April 2017 within the Equestrian Park of the City and which allows to discover on horseback the pearl of the Opal Coast and its magnificent tourist and natural heritage!
