With the “Bivouac between Earth & Sea », you enter a new dimension of the landscapes of the Baie de Somme; that of the centuries-old relationship between the sea and men, just behind the first dykes that separate the meadows from the tidal limit. A secret place, a stone’s throw from the Marquenterre Ornithological Park, where the beauty of nature blends with history. As for the ” Bivouac Évasion », the experience lasts 2 days, from the beginning of the afternoon (2 p.m.) the first day to the next day around noon (12 p.m.), for a group bringing together individuals and/or smaller groups on a pre-established date.
This bivouac, close to the Bay of Somme Nature Reserve, is a privilege. Your attention is drawn to the particular tranquility of the place, which implies great respect for nature and the tranquility of the wild animals whose bivouac site is a favorite resting place.

This hike allows you to discover the Baie de Somme, the very origins of the name “Marquenterre” (“mare in terra”). The place is unique, steeped in history and yet where nature reigns supreme, a stone’s throw from the Marquenterre Ornithological Park and the Baie de Somme Nature Reserve. If you liked the “Bivouac Évasion” in the heart of the dunes, you will love the “Bivouac entre Terre & Sea”! And vice versa !

As for the “Bivouac Évasion”, the hike extends over 2 days, from 2 p.m. the first day to the next day noon. The bivouac is established for the night in this magic place, where one can evoke in turn, according to your centers of interest, the history of the Henson horses, the life of the migratory birds, the particularities of the fauna and the flora of the marshes or even the traces of the old port that has disappeared and those of the dykes built to reclaim land from the sea.
It is also an opportunity to taste the good local products around the wood fire and to taste the fullness of silence with the only sounds of the sea and the songs of frogs or birds.
Sleeping takes place in comfortable Australian cotton tents with a pioneering spirit.
The next morning, after breakfast, you will collect your horses from the adjoining pasture and saddle them for new adventures.
